Inuyasha fans, you might want to sit down for this. Not long ago, the folks at Live Impact confirmed they were moving forward with a live-action stage play based on Rumiko Takahashi's beloved series. The news revealed that Yukata Kyan had been brought on to play the feisty half-demon, and the project's official website unveiled the musician-turned-actor in costume earlier today.

In the stunning character photo, fans can see Kyan dressed in Inuyasha's iconic red robe. The garment, which is said to have been woven from the hair of the Fire-Rat, looks more textured than the ensemble seen in Inuyasha's anime. As for the character's feature, Kyan can be seen rocking the protagonist's long white hair and wolf ears. The rockstar is also wearing a set of elongated nails while wielding Inuyasha's predestined sword, Tessaiga.

The website also confirmed the rest of Inuyasha's main cast:

If you want to learn more about Inuyasha, then you can check out Viz Media's synopsis for the series below:

"After falling into an old well and into ancient Japan, Kagome discovers that her destiny is linked to the dog-like half demon called Inuyasha! As Kagome learns more about her connection to the past and to Inuyasha, she comes into conflict with the terrible demons that are drawn to the Shikon Jewel, including Inuyasha's own half brother, Sesshomaru. Finding the shards of the Shikon Jewel is going to require powerful magic, strange allies, and a strong heart. Kagome's got plenty of heart, but she's going to need Inuyasha's help for the rest of it, and he may not be so willing to lend a hand!"

At its core, the anime follows half-human, half-demon boy named Inuyasha and a teenager from Tokyo called Kagome. The latter is transported from modern-day Tokyo to the past after falling into her family's shrine, and she is bombarded by demons. It turns out the girl carries a magical item known as the Shikon Jewel in her body since she is the reincarnation of a powerful priest. The demons want its power, but Inuyasha manages to stop the hoard from killing Kagome, but the feat managed to shattered the Shikon Jewel.
