Tokyo's New Gundam Suit Looks Seriously Awesome

A new giant Gundam statue is coming and from what we can see, it's going to be just as good, if not better than the old Gundam statue. Recently some sneak peeks of a new 1/1 scale Gundam Unicorn statue has been spreading on social media. This new statue that is being erected in Tokyo's Odaiba, is still unfinished, however, images and videos of the unfinished work showcase the seriously cool new antenna.

According to the videos released on Twitter, the new statue's antenna will move. The new RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Mobile Suit's antenna starts out looking like a unicorn, however, it splits into a V-fin when entering Destroy Mode. When the antenna splits it lights up and overall just looks awesome.

At the moment the statue hasn't been completed and Gundam fans can't see what the whole statue will look like just yet, however, some sneak peeks have been posted all over Twitter showcasing the giant statue in pieces. From this, you could roughly gather what the finished statue would look like completed.

This comes as great news as the original 60-foot tall Gundam statue that stood in the Odaiba district in Tokyo was removed earlier this year. The former statue, which was the exact height of the anime figure that it was based from, became an iconic landmark when visiting Japan. For years the suit attracted tourists and locals to the area, however, now it seems as if there will be a new attraction put in its place.

This new Gundam suit although unfinished already looks as if it's going to be a new epic attraction. With the new suit coming to the delight of all anime fans, as it celebrates one of Japan's most successful animation productions, an anime that has continued strongly since the late 1970's; Gundam.
