When it comes to critically-panned reboots of beloved superheroes, Batman has one up on Spider-Man at this point.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice passed The Amazing Spider-Man's all-time box office haul yesterday, making it the 14th biggest superhero moneymaker of all time after ten days at the box office.

The film had already passed Man of Steel at the global box office, but because a hefty percentage of its gross came from overseas, it hasn't yet overcome Man of Steel's $291 million at the domestic box office. That's likely to happen before the week is out. The movie is now the highest-grossing Superman film on record worldwide, but it's unlikely to touch The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises, both of which grossed over $1 billion globally.

The next big challenge, after a 68% drop from the first to second week, will be earning enough to crack the top ten superhero movies of all time at the domestic box office. The film would need nearly another $100 million to pass Deadpool at the domestic box office, which currently sits at #8. To crack the top ten, Batman V Superman would need to pass Man of Steel, the first two Iron Man films, and then Guardians of the Galaxy's $333 million domestic. Even if it does that, it would need to fend off movies like Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Suicide Squad to keep it.
