While the Kingpin is most often seen as an enemy of Daredevil these days, he actually started off as a Spider-Man villain, making his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #50.

Vincent D'Onofrio will play the Kingpin in Netflix's Marvel's Daredevil television series. With Spider-Man available for use by Marvel Studios, could Spidey find himself going up against the Kingpin of Crime? D'Onofrio hasn't heard anything yet, but he'd definitely be up for it.

"That would be super-cool, yeah," D'Onofrio tells IGN. "To be able to kick Spider-Man's butt would be awesome. But we just don't know about those things. Those are all the Marvel secrets that they never tell us until they need us, so… Yeah, I would do it. I would do it in second."

Marvel is reportedly looking to go with a younger version of Peter Parker for their next Spider-Man movie. Such a version of Spider-Man had an epic rivalry with the Kingpin in the pages of Ultimate Spider-Man. Perhaps Marvel should consider looking into it for their next adaptation.

Daredevil premieres on Netflix on April 10.
