Happy Birthday! Benedict Cumberbatch Turns 39 Today

Happy 39th birthday to Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch!

The British actor who first appeared in 2002's TV movie, Fields of Gold, is set to become a staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he takes on the role of Doctor Strange in November of next year.

The Oscar nominated actor has already played a number of roles which have earned him plenty of geek fandom, including the voice of Smaug the Dragon in the Hobbit trilogy and the titular role in the TV series, Sherlock. Of course, he also played Khan in Star Trek: Into Darkness which makes him a geek culture icon in itself.
