From underwater we see Nick in the pool. Such A Perfect Day" plays. Travis jogs down the street and waves to a neighbor. Daniel cares for his wife. Chris films the neighborhood from the roof. Houses are burnt down. He describes how people were forced east. He and his family are "safe inside the face." The lights have been out 9 days. They're stuck inside the fence under the Army's rule. Chris spots a light from a distant window and is intrigued.

The clock ticks as Madison watches. She tells Alicia they have to repaint the dining room. Travis enters and looks at the clock with Madison, confident the power will come on despite being late. The power comes on and Madison talks about how she wants her house back. Alicia tells them to stop the domestic bickering as if everything was normal because it isn't.

On the roof, Chris uses a mirror to signal the far away house. Travis approaches Chris, who is eager to show him the light and believes someone is out there. Travis quickly shuts him down, insisting there is no one out there.

Nick is in the pool. Madison offers Nick a pill she found on counter. He doesn't want to take it, he'd rather give it to Griselda. Madison wants him to be careful and take the pill.

The Commanding Officer of "this detachment" announces that the people inside the fence are infection free. People are questioning him but he will only read them the note he has been given. They're not moving or allowed to leave the fenced in area. They are 1 of 12 safe zones in the area. Alicia and Ofelia talk to a soldier who is flirting with Ofelia. The Commanding Officer calls Travis aside. The neighbor won't go through the screening and his wife believes Travis can help. It's either that or the CO "takes him down." Soldiers line the edge of the property.

In the house, Travis talks to his neighbor's wife. She tells him her husband has been acting strange since last night. The kids color, in hazmat gear, in the kitchen. Travis enters Doug's room and can't find him. He checks the bathroom and finds Doug, a sad, bearded man sitting by the bathtub. "I don't think I can do it," he tells Travis.

Alicia brings the supplies back to her house.

Doug is very uneasy. Travis assures him everything will be okay and Doug needs to act that way for his family.

Alicia snoops around outside and sneaks into a neighboring house. The one from last week's episode. She sees the empty pill bottle and coffee cup on the table before entering the bedroom and analyzing a drawing on the wall. She reads a note and gets emotional before looking at what's left of the spiral heart on her forearm which her boyfriend, Matt, drew.

Travis leaves Doug whose blood pressure is being taken by a soldier.

Liza leaves a man and his wife offers Liza the chance to stay. When Liza declines the offer, the woman offers Liza food as a "Thank you." As Liza leaves, Nick hops out of the pool and watches her. The neighboring woman walks outside and puts garden gloves on.

Chris tries to convince Madison that someone needs her help. Madison tries to convince him otherwise but is being persuaded by Nick that someone is out there.

The man Liza was helping has raspy breathe. Nick hides under his bed with the morphine drip hooked into his food.

Ofelia and the soldier from earlier fool around in the back of his humvee. He ignores a call to continue. Ofelia wants to slow down. He confesses a liking for her. "You're the only thing that makes me think there's still good in people," he tells her. She asks if he got "the medicine." He couldn't get it. He answers the call and says he's heading back.

Travis and Madison finish some sex in the car. Madison quickly dressed herself and starts to leave. Travis wants her to stay but she opens up about being bothered by the word of "Quarantine camps." Travis, holding a bottle of whiskey, asks what is more specifically wrong. The two start criticizing the way their handling their kids. Madison tells Travis she saw what Chris saw in the video. Madison wants people to get help whoever is out there and she's questioning the soldiers. Travis trusts the soldiers, though. A woman calls out for Travis from outside. Doug's wife tells Travis Doug is missing and she's frantic. Travis signs up to find Doug.

The next morning, Travis sees Doug's car near the fence. Madison flashes flashlight toward the light Chris saw and something shines back.

Later, a soldier golfs in the middle of the street. He tells Travis he found Doug the night before. Travis disagrees with the CO's call to remove Doug from the safe zone. Travis tells the CO that Chris saw a light, but the CO insists there's nothing out there.

Liza enters the neighbor's house, looking for Cynthia. She finds a made bed where Hector was being kept. Cynthia brings a new doctor in, from the government, who moved Hector. The woman urges Liza to sit and wants to speak privately. Cynthia is going to back so she can go see her husband. Liza questions where Hector is but the new doctor dodges all of her questions. The doctor calls Liza out about lying about being a doctor and wants her to "pretend a little longer."

Madison dashes across the street, hiding from soldiers. She clips the fence and exits the perimeter. Madison finds shrines and missing posts covered with pictures. She runs through another neighborhood and gets sick with the smell of dead bodies, which line the streets and sidewalks, all with gunshots in their heads. A caravan approaches and hides under a car, next to a dead body.

Liza and the doctor care for Griselda. The doctor wants to take Griselda to the new military facility. Daniel wants to go with her to this place which is "15 minutes away." He tells his upset wife "Don't have fear," in Spanish.

Doctor Exner and Liza approach Nick. She questions him and his habit. Travis is happy to see her. He questions her as she examines Nick and his blood pressure. Daniel looks on from inside.

Inside, Alicia uses a needle to permanently engrave Matt's spiral heart in her forearm. Madison comes inside and Daniel asks where she went and what she saw. She tells him she "bodies." She says "there was a man, shot like the others, but he wasn't sick. And there were others like that." Daniel begins telling her a story from his youth and how the government came and took people away. Daniel's father questioned their return but was assured they would return. They did return, he went on to tell Madison, in the form of bodies in the river. Daniel's father told him not to have hatred in his heart. Daniel wants Madison to be prepared. He will go with Griselda and if he doesn't return, he needs Madison to look after Ofelia for him. "Keep your son close," he says before exiting.

Outside, Madison starts toward Nick, who is raiding a neighbor's room for drugs. She walks in looking fierce and smacks him repetitively and beats him into the corner.

Later, Alicia tries to enter Nick's room and asks what happened to his face but he locks her out. Travis tries to help her but Alicia claims to have it under control. He walks away and she threatens to get mom which forces him to concede. Candle light illuminates their faces as she questions what happened to his face. He's sad and humbled. Outside, Madison is stressed and sitting in the car. Travis looks on. Outside, they hear a truck. The soldiers begin to haul Griselda out, lead by Liza. The soldiers want to take Nick and he runs away before getting hit with the butt of a gun. Chaos ensues in the house. Daniel tries to fight the soldiers but is knocked down. Travis diffuses the situation. The soldiers haul him away. Liza tries to convince Dr. Exner to let Nick stay but she tells Liza to get in the truck and help at the hospital. She looks to the window at Chris and says "I'll be back. I love you," and gets on the truck. Madison runs after the truck as it pulls away with Liza on the back. The soldiers won't let her out of the yard.

Madison reenters the house, where Chris is storming off. "Liza. She did this," Madison tells Travis. Daniel isolates himself in another room. Madison storms out to the garage and locks herself in. Travis stands defeated by the window. Alicia reads a letter to "Patrick," apologizing if he finds it. It is narrating her suspicions of witnessing the rapture. Travis cries on the roof and sees the light which Liza and Chris previously did, followed by gunshots.
