Fantastic Four Sequel Removed From Fox's Release Schedule

Despite Fox's initial insistence that the Fantastic Four sequel was moving forward despite the box office failure of the first film, Fox has now officially removed the Fantastic Four sequel from their release schedule.

Fantastic Four 2 was originally scheduled for a June 9, 2017 release date, even before the first film hit theaters. With virtually all superhero movies performing well at the box office recently, Fox probably felt confident at the time that Fantastic Four would follow suit. However, Fantastic Four wound up being the rare superhero movie flop. Fantastic Four only grossed $56 million domestically and $167 million worldwide on a production budget of $120 million.

It's unclear if Fox removing Fantastic Four 2 from their schedule means the film is indefinitely canceled or if it will be rescheduled for a later date to allow more time for Fox to plan a strategy for what comes next.

who cares the movie and all its actors where garbage. the soryline the casting the ridiculous story. movie was doomed from the day they announced the cast and tried to go with a step sister brother for the storms to justify michael b jordans casting.

  1. Hopefully this means the rights will be sold back to Marvel. Ironically, this is the 4th time Fox has tried, and it failed again. But knowing them, they'll try a fifth reboot on their own.

What's that nay sayers? Did I hear the sound of the other shoe dropping? All that's left is for them either to announce another sequal right before their rights expire in half a dozen years or just give up and sell it back to Marvel Studios

  2. Return the Fantastic Four franchise to Marvel

Duh, Fox isn't take stupid to try and push another one with that same cast. They will probably wait until the right are almost up and make another one out of spite.
