The Russo Brothers Would Be Interested In Doing A Black Widow Solo Movie

blackwidowsolomovie

While discussing how important Natasha Romanova (Scarlett Johansson) and Steve Roger's (Chris Evans) relationship is in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, directors Anthony and Joe Russo were asked if Marvel Studios ever decided to make a Black Widow solo film would they be interested.

Joe Russo: Hell yeah! We love that character

Anthony Russo: And we love Scarlett.

Joe Russo: We find that the character is one of if not the richest character in the Marvel universe. A very complex character, haunted by demons and her understanding of the world is fascinating. I think there is a lot that can be done with that character.

Listen to Joe and Anthony Russo's comments in the video below.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War opens in U.S. theaters on May.

Captain America: Civil War will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2016.

  1. I personally don't find Black Widow that exciting a character....but the Russos could do some interesting stuff with her.

She's a boring character whos never been able to keep an ongoing comic last more than 25 issues. Normally even as a Marvel and Scarlet Johnson fan I'd barely be interested, the only seris of hers i liked was her recent one... but the Russo Brothers directing, it could be a great movie and hopefully would effect positively effect her comic character for decades to come.

I'd prefer a solo Hawkeye film over this. Plus after Captain Marvel how about a Ms. Marvel film. With that movie you get to show another strong female character and don't waste a movie on one very few people want.
