Jessica Jones Season Two Is a Go at Netflix

Breathe a sigh of relief, Jessica Jones fans. The show has been renewed for a second season.

The series, which stars Krysten Ritter as the title heroine and Mike Colter as her boyfriend Luke Cage (who gets his own spinoff soon), took a bit longer than Daredevil for Netflix to hop on a second season, leading some to worry that it might be in danger, but Variety reports it's now a done deal.

Jessica Jones, prior to Marvel's Defenders slate popping up at Netflix, started its life as AKA Jessica Jones, originally developed for broadcast TV with many of the same creative personnel who would later bring a much more hardcore take to the video-on-demand service.

No specific release date was given for the second season, although it seems likely it will come in late 2016; Season One debuted in November of 2015, and Daredevil's second season comes roughly a year after its first. Work on Luke CageIron Fist, and The Defenders is still humming along.

best Netflix how so far, Daredevil Season 2 and luke cage will do until then

  1. Good to hear. JJ was probably the most unique and distinct Marvel program or film to date. Would like to see how they push the envelope even further in Season 2. I'd imagine they'll pursue the origin of her powers, and hopefully get Patsy some powers so she can become Hellcat. Not sure what villain they would use though. Will have to wait and see, I guess :P

As long as they don't adapt Pulse and stick with an Alias vibe this should be amazing.
