After Deadpool ended, it followed the lead of many super hero films before it and packed on an added scene after the credits rolled.

Be warned, we're going to talk about Deadpool's post-credits scene below, so if you don't want it to be spoiled, stop here.

After fading in from black, Deadpool pops his head out of a room at the end of a hallway. He's sporting the robe made famous in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and wondering why the audience is still sitting there. Deadpool says, "You're still here? It's over. Go home."

Continuing his fashion of breaking the fourth wall, Deadpool asks the audience what they were expecting. Deadpool says, "Oh, you were expecting a teaser for Deadpool 2. Well, we don't have that kind of thing." He adds, "You were expecting Sam Jackson to show up with an eye patch and saucey little leather number."

The Sam Jackson bit is a reference to Iron Man's post credits scene from 2008 when he approached Tony Stark in his Malibu mansion to mention The Avengers Initiative for the first time.

An additional post-credits scene was added to Deadpool for its theatrical release which was not included for advanced press screenings. After the credits start to roll again, Deadpool comes back and says, "Oh, but I can tell you one thing that's a bit of a secret. In the sequel, we're going to add Cable. We have no idea who we're going to cast yet, but it could be anyone. We just need a big guy with a flat top: Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Keira Knightley. Big secret. And don't leave your garbage all lying around. It's a total dick move. Go."

Deadpool is now playing in theaters.
