Sharknado: The 4th Awakens Premiere Date Announced

SyFy has officially announced the next installment of the Sharknado franchise. The new movie's title take some inspiration from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens will premiere on Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET.

The new Sharknado takes place 5 years after Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! There have been no Sharknados in the intervening years, but now they're appearing again in unexpected ways.

Ian Zierling will return as Fin. Tara Reid will return to reveal the fate of her character, April, which was decided via fan vote after Sharknado 3 aired.

The cast also includes David Hasselhoff, Ryan Newman, Gary Busey, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Cheryl Tiegs.
