The Marvel universe is about to get trippier, and that's a good thing.

In fact, one of the main goals of the upcoming Doctor Strange is to blend the more grounded reality that Marvel's heroes occupy with the multi-dimensional and world of weird that Doctor Strange inhabits.

Executive Producer Stephen Broussard said: "one of the things that's important to us in telling a magical story is keeping it grounded but still leaving enough room to have really cool, unique visual ideas to explore."

President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige wants to see that goal come to fruition as well, asking "How do you put that on a screen within this cinematic universe? That is one of the primary goals of that movie"

For Director Scott Derrickson's part, he wants to make the magic feel less binary, and more of an otherworldly experience.

"where it was all about mind expansion and doors of perception and seeing things from a new perspective," he says. "We get to go with Stephen Strange through his experience of the new, and hopefully, it'll give audiences something that's new for them as viewers. Traditionally when you think about practitioners of sorcery, they tend to be static in the casting and speaking of spells, and then something odd happens that become the spectacle that you watch. (Here) It's just more immersive and bigger than the characters."

Offering up a last summary of the film, Derrickson said: "What you can expect from this Doctor Strange movie is a mind trip action film."

Doctor Strange opens in theaters nationwide on November 4th, 2016.
