Robert Kirkman is never shy about sharing his feelings on a given subject, and recently he made some comments on how Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin handled the ending of his much-loved series.

Not the ending in regards to specific plot points and storylines mind you, but the fact that Martin told HBO what the ending for his series was so they could plot the next season of the wildly popular TV adaptation. Kirkman's TV series likely won't face the same problem, as the show hasn't moved through the comic material as quickly as Game of Thrones did. He said: "I would never do that. That's the one thing I'm disappointed in George R.R. Martin for doing. He should have just been like, 'F--- you.' You make it up now, I'll get to mine when I'm ready."

Today the talented creator addressed his earlier comments on Twitter, first saying: "How George RR Martin would reply if I really meant to be critical of him." followed by a GIF courtesy of Mad Men.

He continued: "Disappointed" is probably the wrong word. I was just joking about how I would have handled that situation. Love GOT, love GRRM." Finally, he concluded with one last tweet which said: "George RR Martin is a far better writer than I'll ever be. And I'm loving the new season of Game Of Thrones. It's my favorite show on TV!"

Kirkman obviously has a lot of respect for the author and seemed to be addressing how he would have handled the request from the studio if put in the same situation, as opposed to saying anything negative about the author himself.
