TNT has ordered a television pilot based on Let the Right One In, the Swedish vampire novel written by John Ajvide Lindqvist. The adaptation is being developed by Jeff Davis, creator of MTV's Teen Wolf and CBS's Criminal Minds.

Let the Right One In follows a young boy who has trouble fitting in at school. The boy befriends a vampire who appears to be a girl of about his age. Around the same time, a string of murders leads the authorities to the girl.

Let the Right One In was adapted into a 2008 Award-winning Swedish film by director Tomas Alfredson. The film was then remade into the 2010 English-language film Let Me In, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloë Grace Moretz, Elias Koteas, and Richard Jenkins.

In addition to writing the pilot, Davis will serve as executive producer, along with Marty Adelsen and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Simon Oakes of Hammer Films, Alex Brunner, and Carl Molinder, who produced the Swedish film adaptation.

"Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale," said Sarah Aubrey, TNT's executive vice president of original programming. "This novel is a watershed of rich storytelling, making it an abundant source from which Jeff, Marty, Becky and Simon will bring to life in this all-new adaptation."

"TNT has amassed an incredible slate of programming and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with them. Their collaboration and shared enthusiasm for bringing Let the Right One In to the U.S. TV audience is incredibly exciting to all of us," added Adelstein, executive producer and CEO of Tomorrow Studios.

Let the Right One In is the latest in a series of horror projects from TNT. The cable network has a horror content block in the works a from M. Night Shyamalan, including a revival of horror anthology series Tales From the Crypt.

Davis' Teen Wolf will air its sixth and final season on MTV in 2017.
