WWE Has A Huge WrestleMania Backup Plan For Triple H

Injuries are an unfortunate part of life in the WWE, and they typically come at the worst times. That is certainly the case for Seth Rollins, who was finally nearing the culmination of a year-long feud with Triple H before injuring his knee on Monday Night RAW.

The outlook on the recovery time for that injury is actually positive, with many in the company believing that Rollins vs Triple H at WrestleMania will still happen as planned, just with a few minor tweaks to keep Rollins from being re-injured. These things are rather unpredictable, though, so WWE has to have a backup plan ready to go just in case, and it seems that plan involves a superstar who knows exactly what Rollins is going through (via Inquisitr).

That backup plan would be Finn Balor, who was also injured right as he was about to hit full stride on the main roster. Balor was hurt at last year's SummerSlam after a thrilling bout to capture the Universal Title. He then had to surrender it the next night on Monday Night Raw. It would certainly be a way to bring things full circle, and WWE is keen on putting Balor right back into the main event picture when he does return to action, so a feud with Triple H would certainly be one way to kick off his 2017.

It's also really the only traditional heel vs face matchup the WWE has available at the moment. Other reports have said Samoa Joe is likely to face Triple H if Rollins can't return in time, but Joe is a full on heel right now, so having a Heel vs Heel match is probably not the best way to go. Every other major babyface is currently embroiled in their own storyline at the moment, so going with Balor would be in many ways a win-win for everyone involved.
