Captain America The Winter Soldier Death

Spoiler Warning: If you want to avoid Captain America: The Winter Soldier spoilers, then you might want to avoid watching television for the next several weeks. Marvel Studios has released a new commercial for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which spoils a major death in the film. Since the TV spot spoils the death, Marvel must not consider it a real spoiler for the film, so it's likely to pop up in other promotional material. For the meantime, if you're looking to avoid the spoiler, then stop reading now (and don't watch the TV spot below). In previous trailers for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there had been an image of a body under a sheet, which had led to much speculation over who might have died. Because Black Widow seemed particularly upset over whoever was under the sheet, some speculation had centered around it being Hawkeye. However, it appears as if Comicbook.com's Russ Burlingame actually called it correctly, when he predicted it was Nick Fury. The newest TV spot starts with Nick Fury driving a vehicle toward The Winter Soldier, who shoots an explosive device under the vehicle. The vehicle explodes with Fury apparently still inside. The scene is followed with a shot of Fury undergoing an operation in a hospital. In a voiceover, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) says, "Fury's last words were not to trust anyone." Captain America: The Winter Soldier is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on April 4, 2014.
