Cosmo -- the telepathic, Russian space dog who ran Knowhere during the Dan Abnett/Andy Lanning run on Guardians of the Galaxy -- played a very small role in the feature film adaptation of that run, released earlier this month, but no official photos of the character have been released by Marvel just yet.

Enter director James Gunn, who shared a photo of himself posing with the dog who played Cosmo (in costume) in recognition of National Dog Day.

You'll see that he posted that Cosmo is his second favorite dog; his first would obviously be his own dog, Von Spears, who also had a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy.
