The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 2: The Well

The Walking Dead is back in full swing following the brutal Season 7 premiere which aired one week ago. Tonight, the show promises a change of pace with a more lighthearted Episode 2 of Season 7, titled, "The Well."

The official synopsis for The Well reads, "Following a number of familiar faces, we are introduced to a new well-established community that seems too good to be true."

The community in reference is the Kingdom - a location teased since San Diego Comic Con in July and one which comic book fans have been anticipating for years. Carol and Morgan, last seen in the Season 6 finale back in April being offered help by a man in combat gear, will be guided to the new bunch. In a surprising twist on this dark series, the community will be friendly and much more so than the Hilltop.

The Kingdom is lead by Ezekiel. Debuting in the Season 7 trailer, Khary Payton takes on the role of the jungle-cat-taming, extravagant man behind the curtain. His tiger, Shiva, will also make her debut on Sunday night.

We know Carol will recover from her wounds acquired in the Season 6 finale but her mental state is constantly up in the air recently. "She's definitely got some healing to do in her mind and where she wants to be on this earth," McBride told ComicBook.com, before adding, "or [if] she wants to stick around or what."

Comic book fans know that Carol took her own life on the pages of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead. Her character certainly saw a much more significant evolution on television, becoming the warrior who kills anything to survive before breaking down following the overwhelming amount of violence constantly surrounding her. However, if she is to survive, many signs are pointing towards a little bit of romance between the widow who lost her daughter and the leader of the Kingdom. In the comics, it was Michonne who found love with the King. Seeing as she is very much involved with Rick and Carol is the one headed to the Kingdom in her place, we're betting on a form of substituion is coming to the TV series.

Don't expect to see Rick Grimes or most of the Alexandria this weekend.
