Poor Norman Reedus. The actor has had some pretty bad luck this year when it comes to The Walking Dead. The AMC series is still a hit amongst fans, but the show has become a tedious ritual for Reedus during Season 7. The character has been beaten, tortured, demeaned, and utterly subjugated thanks to Negan. The horrendous villain has done a good job beating down Daryl's spirit during the first half of Season 7, and Reedus is finally admitting that the onslaught has done a toll.

After Sunday's midseason finale, Reedus appeared on The Talking Dead to hash out his feelings about the show's season.
"This whole season has been really hard for me," he said. "I was talking to Melissa, and she was like, 'You know, it's interesting. Your character has literally been stripped of all of his stuff - his outfit, who he is, [been] taken from his people and everything else.' It's just been rough, all of it."
"It's been a rough season for me and for all of us. We're not together as much as we're used to being. It's been hard."
Of course, fans of the The Walking Dead know how much Reedus has endured over the past season. The electrifying drama returned in October with what's been one of the most talked about episodes in cable television. The premiere saw two majors characters bite the dust, and Daryl felt as if his actions led to Glenn's violent death. The character was separated from Rick's group thanks to Negan who began treating the Southern survivor like a lowly prisoner of war. The villain's mind-games were sometimes more brutal than any physical torture Daryl endured, and fans still have dreams about the Easy Street theme song looping endlessly in their sleep.
When Season 7B makes its way to AMC after The Walking Dead ends its hiatus, fans are hoping Daryl will start fighting for his sense of self. If fans are lucky, Negan and his Saviors may need a savior of their own once Daryl gets his rage underfoot.
The official synopsis for Season 7 of The Walking Dead lies below. AMC described the first-half of the season as "fractured" and "bereaved," so what do you think the latter part will have in store for fans?
"Up until this point, our characters have lived through conflicts... Disease, hunger, scores of the undead, tragedy, betrayal, and unthinkable loss. Through this, they've become formidable. Powerful. Unstoppable.
To start Season Seven, that power is taken away. They had found safety and stability. They had created a home. They thought the world was theirs. They thought they knew the world. They were wrong.
The first half of Season Seven sees our group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression. Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his control, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don't.
Other characters are unaware of what's happened, but have become separated from the group either by incident or choice -- they will learn that they can't escape this new turn of their world, either. This half season is about these characters starting over.
The overall theme of the season is beginning again. The world isn't what they thought it was. It's bigger and it's even more dangerous."
