Before The Walking Dead returns for its eighth season on AMC, the popular zombie series will be parodied in stop-motion form on Robot Chicken.
Robot Chicken's The Walking Dead episode will air on October 8th at 12 am ET on Adult Swim, two weeks ahead of The Walking Dead's Season Eight premiere.
Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich brought in The Walking Dead's creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott M. Gimple to help bring the animated parody project to life.
The episode will feature the voices of The Walking Dead's Rick actor Andrew Lincoln and Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan along with Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, but it doesn't stop there. More stars of the show lent their voices to the project, including, but not limited to, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, and Sarah Wayne Callies.
Comedy isn't something fans of The Walking Dead have been accustomed to through 99 episodes. In fact, Season Seven was quite the opposite, with Rick Grimes being bullied by newcomer Negan for the entire 16 episodes.
For fans hungry for more Walking Dead, they'll get a small fix in the form of a Season Eight preview special airing on AMC ahead of Fear the Walking Dead's upcoming midseason premiere.
The Walking Dead's sibling series Fear the Walking Dead returns September 10th. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season Eight premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
