Kevin Feige Thinks Marvel And DC Fan Divide Is Ridiculous

It seems there will always be a divide between DC and Marvel comics fans, and that has carried over to the films as well. One person at Marvel thinks that is rather ridiculous.
That would be Marvel Studios chief, Kevin Feige. Feige has been an integral part of the Marvel movie machine for some time now, and is aware of the back and forth between Marvel and DC fans. When asked if there is common ground and if we can all just like superhero movies, Feige is definitely in that camp. "Of course. I do," Feige told Crave Online. "I mean, I don't know exactly what you're referring to. I assume it's Twitter feuds or something?
Most of that discussion occurs on social media these days, and Feige thinks getting bent out of shape in regards to that rivalry is unnecessary.
"But I think it's ridiculous," Feige said. "I think movies are awesome and people should go out and support awesome movies, and I go support those movies and I thought Wonder Woman was awesome. I can't wait to see what Geoff Johns and Joss [Whedon] and the gang has done with Justice League. I guess people like rivalries, I guess? I don't know. But I'm seeing Geoff Johns in a couple weeks for dinner. We went to this Dick Donner event together. Dick's Superman is still the best archetype of superhero films. So yeah, just go see cool movies. What are you fighting about?"
Unfortunately, that isn't likely to happen anytime soon, though it should. There's plenty to love at both companies at the moment, as well as the broader comics sphere in general. Still, it was always going to extend from the rivalry seen in the comics, as the two still like to one-up each other from time to time. It isn't the aggressive rivalry it used to be, but the companies are still two businesses in the same field, so some degree of competition is expected.
In fact, DC just made big waves yesterday, when longtime Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis made the jump over to DC Comics. It was a pretty big shakeup, and Marvel will likely counter with a big move of their own sooner than later.
In the end, though, superhero movies are awesome, so don't be worried about any allegiances and just go enjoy them
Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters now, while DC's Justice League is in theaters on November 17.
