Screenwriter and producer David S. Goyer says that while there are reports that a Man of Steel sequel is in development, nothing will be official until and unless the film impresses in its first couple of weeks at the U.S. box office. "I'm under lock and key, but it would be disingenuous to say we didn't [have ideas]," Goyer told reporters as the European premiere of the film last night. "A lot is going to depend on this weekend and next weekend. We certainly are hoping for a sequel." Goyer and director Zack Snyder, both of whom are rumored to be returning for a sequel, have spent much of the week fielding questions about the future of the character both in his own films and in a potential Justice League movie. If Justice League happens, Goyer has expressed an interest in writing it, implying that's one of the only ways to top yourself after having just reinvented Superman.
