SPOILER WARNING: This article goes into detail about the events of Agent Carter Episode 6, "A Sin to Err." If you don't want anything spoiled for you, be sure to watch that episode first. You've been warned.

In Agent Carter's fifth episode, "The Iron Ceiling," audiences were introduced to the character of Dr. Ivchenko (Ralph Brown), a captive psychiatrist who is rescued by Carter and the Howling Commandoes from a Leviathan base in Russia. During the episode, Ivchenko is forced to kill the engineer he was caring for, who had gone mad from the Leviathan killed his family. In the end, Carter and Agent Thompson invite Ivchenko to return to New York City with them, hoping that he can provide more insight into Leviathan's operations.

In the following episode, "A Sin to Err," we realize that Ivchenko is more than he seems. He's seen sending and receiving coded messages with Dottie, and is clearly working for Leviathan. Given the tactics he uses to further his mission, he may be something more than just a simple Leviathan agent. Could he possibly be Captain America villain Doctor Faustus?

The modus operandi certainly fits. In the comics, Doctor Faustus using hypnotic suggestion, under the cover of being a caring psychiatrist, to make others do his will. When he needs someone out of the way, he usually eliminates them by having them put themselves into a position to commit suicide. This is precisely what Ivchenko does to Agent Yauch in "A Sin to Err," once he gets everything he needs out of him.

If this is true, it places Ivchenko's actions in "The Iron Ceiling" under a new light. He clearly wanted to be brought back to New York to infiltrate the SSR, so it's likely that he killed his "patient" in the previous episode to keep what he knew a secret, or that the man was an innocent who Ivchenko hypnotized into thinking he was a patient, and who really knew nothing to begin with.

There's also the question of what exactly Ivchenko is looking to take from Stark's belongings. Given Faustus' history with the character in the comics, and that it's likely the most valuable thing among all of Stark's possessions, my money is on Captain America's blood. This would also fit nicely with Levithan's established comic book origin. Of course, Ivchenko doesn't know that Carter has already taken Cap's blood…but with Carter now captive, it could only be a matter of time.
