Jumanji Stampedes Into New Release Date: July 28, 2017

Looks like Sony decided to do some New Year's rearranging.

Wednesday afternoon, Sony announced that they had changed the release date for their new Marvel Cinematic Universe-based Spider-Man movie, which left an open slot.

Enter Sony's reboot of Jumanji, which is taking Spider-Man's old place. With over a year remaining, only a director has been named, Jake Kasden (Freaks and Geeks, Walk Hard), but no word on cast at this time.

Jumanji, for those old enough to remember, was this children's book about a magical board game by Chris Van Allsburg, where survival in the jungle is hardly just a game. An adaptation was made and was a fairly successful movie starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst in 1995.
