Jeremy Renner Open to a Hawkeye Netflix Series

Hawkeye Civil War

Marvel is having great success exploring some of its other characters on television through its partnership with Netflix.

Characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage will all be getting their chance in the spotlight, but what about some of the Avengers from the films?

Answering questions during a spotlight panel for the actor at Silicon Valley Comic Con, Hawkeye and Avengers actor Jeremy Renner was asked if he would do a Hawkeye series on Netflix like Daredevil.

"I think that's actually a really great model, if there's ever a way to explore the character, maybe it's in that world. These are things that are really not in my control, but I'd be open to it. I've really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you're doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I'd be open to it. Not up to me, though."

Hint Hint, Nudge Nudge.

So basically, I would love to, but it's not up to me. We got a much bigger glimpse of the character behind the costume in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but I would be interested to find out more, and there is no shortage of stories to tell with the character.

Later on in the panel, a fan asked if he would be open to a Black Widow and Hawkeye movie. Renner instantly responded "In a second. I'd love to do that." Personally, that is the project I would love to see. The characters have so much history together in the cinematic universe, and getting to see these characters interact before their days as Avengers would make for some compelling content.

  1. I'm amazed they haven't done a Widow/Hawkeye movie yet.

I'd like to see 1 of them (Hawkeye) killed in Civil War, then the other (Widow) in Infinity 1.These unpowered Avengers can't keep up with Gem Stone powered or other superpowered beings in battle. Then create a dual Hawkeye/Black Widow series that fills in the time of SHIELD between the 80's with Hank Pym/Howard Stark, and just before/and during Phase 1.Lets find out just what did transpire in Budapest.

Apparently they can keep up just fine seeing as how well they did against aliens and robots. You may as well kill off falcon, cap, and everyone else who isnt as strong as thor and hulk. Basically the point is you're an idiot. Hawkeye especially has been in tons of spacefairing larger than life battles from comics to cartoons and that doesnt appear to be changing in the films. The characters look to be around for some time in the near future and your sorry ass just has to deal with it. The Russos kno better than you and if they have them kicking ass in Infinity War, all you can do is whine more on backwater website comment sections.

  2. Seriously? Have you ever read a comic book? Have you ever researched these characters? The answer is clearly no, as you clearly don't know a thing about those two characters. They may not be as powerful as Cap or Hulk, but they are special in their own ways. One thing the movies don't touch base on is that Widow, has a formula similar to the one given to Cap and the one given to Fury. Which helps her body reach peak human conditioning and healing; even stunting her aging dramatically. She was trained by Bucky Barnes, AKA Winter Soldier and is a bad ass assassin/spy. She doesn't -need- super powers because she does just fine on her own. There have been speculations made that she's on par with Tony and Rogers; intelligence wise. Now on to Hawkeye. He may not have super strength, but he does have a super power.... in his own way. Well, sort of.... He has eagle like eyesight and super fast reflexes. He may not be powered but guess what? Neither is Iron Man, War Machine, Mockingbird, Nick Fury(unless you count the infinity formula), The Punisher, Star-Lord, and many others. All of which are still wicked awesome characters. My conclusion here? Pick up a book, do some research and -really- think about what you want to say before you say it. Otherwise, you show just how truly.... ignorant you are. Also... spoiler alert, someone will die... if they follow the comics at all, and you won't be too happy. ;) Keep being stupid! Kthanxbai!
