When part of Avengers: Age of Ultron was filmed in South Africa, fans assumed it was to include Wakanda, the kingdom of the Black Panther, in the film.

Ultimately, they did head to Wakanda in Age of Ultron but it was a relatively small part of the movie and other story elements were filmed in South Africa, so it wasn't exactly a 1:1 thing.

Now, though it seems Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is looking to bring some authenticity to the film, and Marvel Studios is on board, looking at the possibility of filming for the film there.

"We'll do our stage work in Atlanta," Marvel producer Nate Moore told The Undefeated. "And we're definitely investigating shooting in Africa … both Marvel and Ryan feel that would be really good for the movie. We just haven't drilled down on it yet."

Little is known about Black Panther yet, other than the cast starting to take shape. Coogler's film will star Chadwick Boseman, introduced in the role in Captain America: Civil War, and it will bring back Age of Ultron's Andy Serkis -- but beyond that, both Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o are rumored to have roles in the film, which hits theaters in 2018.
