Much to the chagrin of many a fan, DC's cinematic universe has decided to take a different route from its TV predecessors, both in tone and in casting. It made this clear when Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. cast Ezra Miller in the role of Flash for the upcoming Justice League films, rather than go with the Flash they already had on TV in actor Grant Gustin.

Many felt that was a misstep, as their TV universe has been quite successful, but when Arrow star Stephen Amell spoke to Larry King recently, it seems that it might play out the same for him if Green Arrow is ever brought over to the film universe.

When King asked about the possibility of an Arrow movie, Amell replied: "Well, I'm, I mean it has become easier to take properties on television and turn them into films, but I don't know, those are things that exist out...

King: The guy who plays The Flash wasn't cast in the movie right?

Amell: No, the cinematic universe and the television universe are separate.

King: So you might not be cast if it were a movie.

Amell: I might not be.

King: Does that bug you?

Amell: Ummm, I've spoken with people within DC and they've said there's no plan to bring the Green Arrow character to the cinematic universe, but things change."

Green Arrow doesn't really seem to fit the direction the films are going in at the moment, but with Geoff Johns having a bigger role in the film universe from here on out, who knows. That said, if they were to cast a Green Arrow, I don't see why they wouldn't at least have him test for it. He would bring an already devoted following with him, and they could use some fan goodwill right now.
