Star Trek is always into exploring new worlds and going boldly, and now it's doing that in the direction of Mattel's world-famous collectible doll set, Barbie.

For the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, three original series characters will be made into Barbie dolls, featuring the likenesses of William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock, and Nichelle Nichols as Lieutenant Uhura. Each Star Trek Barbie comes in their TOS costumes and fully articulated, and each comes with their own unique accessories.

Captain Kirk comes with a phaser and a communicator. Uhura has a classic tricorder over her shoulder and also includes a communicator. Spock comes with a communicator as well (hey, they all have to talk to each other, don't they?), but instead of another accessory, his right hand is posed in the Vulcan salute.

Each Star Trek Barbie runs $34.99, and is available now for pre-order.

This is just the latest of the copious 50th Anniversary celebrations for Star Trek. Later this year, the new official Star Trek convention from Reed POP (you know them from Star Wars Celebration, New York Comic Con, and their involvement in the PAX expos), "Mission New York," debuts this fall in New York City (joining Destination Europe and Trek Las Vegas), the new film Star Trek Beyond hits theaters July 22, 2016, and a new Star Trek TV series will debut on CBS and their All-Access digital platform early next year.
