Suicide Squad Runtime Reportedly Revealed

A new report regarding the run time of the upcoming Suicide Squad film's run time has surfaced just days after one claim was denied by the film's director.

Now, Collider claims the run time of Suicide Squad will be 130 minutes with credits according to their sources. Should the sources turn out to be correct, Suicide Squad, the third entry to the DC Extended Universe, will be the shortest film to date. Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice both clocked in around 150 minutes. A 130 minute run time gives Suicide Squad the exact same running tie as Marvel's Iron Man 3.

Great pressure lays on the shoulders of Suicide Squad which heads into theaters just after San Diego Comic Con this summer. Following lackluster reactions to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Brothers and DC Films are hoping to find a new audience with the anti-hero flick which is heavily targeting a younger, more hip audience with its energetic trailers and original soundtrack.

In Suicide Squad, it feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?

Ayer both wrote and directed Suicide Squad. The film's ensemble cast includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne.

Suicide Squad is set for release August 5, 2016.
