While there are many valid criticisms about the planning and forethought that went into kickstarting the DC Cinematic Universe, Director Zack Snyder did succeed in giving his Batman ample motivation for putting a stop to Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

This is seen early in the film when events that transpired during the final conflict in Man of Steel are used as the setup for Batman's state of mind towards the Kryptonian, as the damage to the city not only threatens Metropolis citizens but also kills people closely tied to Bruce Wayne.

BVS Man of Steel Mashup2

While I felt the theatrical cut got this point across quite well, Youtube creator The Film Guy has gone the extra mile and spliced in more footage from Man of Steel, and it makes it even better. The best part is the extra footage of Zod and Superman battling in the building when Zod loses control of his heat vision. You can see the beams cutting into the Wayne Building in BvS, but here it's magnified when you actually see the two fighting and what proceeded it.

There is yet a third version of the opening scenes in Warner Bros and DC's Ultimate Edition of the film, which is already out digitally and releases on Blu-ray and DVD on July 19th. The Ultimate Edition adds about 30 minutes worth of extra footage to the film, including some scenes that are just a bit more fleshed out.
