Syfy Unleashes Trailer For Sharknado: The 4th Awakens

Syfy's so bad it's great franchise is back, and to say it was influenced just a bit by Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens wouldn't be stepping too far out on a ledge.

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens takes place 5 years after the events of Sharknado 3. Those 5 years have been quite peaceful for Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his family, but of course, that peace can't last forever, and the Sharknado's have returned.

In the first trailer, we see most of the cast make an appearance, a cast which includes David Hasselhoff (Gilbert Grayson Shepard), Tara Reid (April Wexler), Carrie Keagan (Supervisor Martindale), Ryan Newman (Claudia Shepard) and Gary Busey (Wilford Wexler). This time around though Sharknado's aren't the only thing the group has to worry about, as the trailer shows off some new nado's, including a Firenado and an Oilnado.

At some point, maybe we'll get a Cownado, or perhaps an Emunado. You know, a nado full of emu's, because why not? We'll also get to see Reid's fate, which was voted on by fans on Syfy's website after the conclusion of the third film. We'll just have to wait and see if she survives the latest Sharknado attack.

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens is set to release on Sunday, July 31st at 8 p.m. ET.
