DC's Legends of Tomorrow is headed back into production for its second season, and yesterday showrunner Marc Guggenheim took to social media to release an image of the table read.

In the photo, embedded below, one little detail stuck out with many fans: there's an actor in the photo whose face is obscured by pixellation.

Fans immediately took to the comments to speculate as to who it might be, excited to learn about an as-yet-unannounced new character joining the cast of the series.

Of course, there's no reason to assume that the pixellated face will be a new member of the Waverider's crew. It's equally likely that he's either a guest star for the premiere, or possibly a villain -- either for the premiere or for the season. As yet, nothing has been revealed as to the identity of the villain for Legends's second season.

Given his proximity to Dominic Purcell at the roundtable, it could also be Purcell's on- and offscreen co-conspiritor Wentworth Miller, whose Captain Cold apparently died in Legends's first season, only to be cast in a recurring role across all four of executive producer Greg Berlanti's CW/DC series next year (The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl).

Of course, while it's easy to assume this is a new character, the Captain Cold speculation brings up another possibility: that he's pixellated not because he's new but because he's a familiar face to the Arrow-verse, and this episode represents a crossover of sorts that hasn't yet been announced.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow is currently in production on its second season, which will center on the Justice Society of America, with Citizen Steel, Vixen (an ancestor of the Vixen seen on Arrow) and Hourman so far confirmed. It seems from context clues likely that Legends will play off the World War II iteration of the Justice Society and not the Earth-2 version.

Legends of Tomorrow Season Two will premiere on Thursday, October 13 a 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
