On Saturday night, extreme skydiver, Luke Aikins, jumped out of an airplane at 25,000 feet. In his 26-year career, Aikins had successfully landed over 18,000 parachute jumps. Aikins also worked as a stuntman on Marvel's Iron Man 3 and Godzilla.

However, this particular jump was a lot different than all the other jumps Aikins had taken. Aikins had planned to jump out of the airplane without a parachute and with nothing but the clothes on his back. However, the SAG-AFTRA union voiced safety objections and was not going to allow their members to work on the show unless Aikins wore a parachute.

Faced with the prospect of the event being canceled, Aikins reluctantly agreed to wear a parachute, even though he had no intention of using it. However, while Aikins was in the air preparing for the jump, the restriction was lifted and Aikins removed his parachute.

After jumping, Aikins went into a free-fall for around two minutes over Simi Valley, California with the goal of landing in a net. Aikins had to rely completely on just wind currents and his body to steer himself in the direction of the 100x100 foot net.

The stunt, called Heaven Sent, aired live on FOX television on Saturday night. So the big question: Did Aikins successfully complete the stunt? Yes, Aikins landed with perfection in the middle of the net. After the net was lowered, Aikins stood up and raised his hands in the air in celebration.
