Supergirl Heads to Metropolis In New Set Photos

A few days ago, Supergirl set photos surfaced of Clark Kent grabbing a coffee with James Olsen, and hanging around a Daily Planet newsstand, we wondered whether it was possible that the scene took place in Metropolis (where, presumably, there are far more Daily Planet-branded things than other major cities in the DC Universe).

Turns out we were spot on: new set photos spotted on social media point to at least one scene in Metropolis -- and probably one involving a crisis, since two of the three Metropolis-specific images feature first responder vehicles.

The third -- and one that will likely play into a larger story since Lex Luthor's sister is coming to National City this season -- is an image of "LuthorCorp." While fans of the Zack Snyder movies and the post-Crisis Superman will know the company as LexCorp, the corporation helmed by Lex Luthor went by "LuthorCorp" in Smallville.

In its second season, Supergirl moves from CBS to The CW, and production heads to Vancouver. One of the highest-rated and most buzzed-about episodes of Supergirl this year was its crossover with The Flash. A move to The CW will mean an increase in crossover opportunities with the DC Universe set up at the network. Supergirl shares executive producers Schecter, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg with Arrow, The Flash, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. A four-way crossover has already been promised for the coming broadcast season.

Chris Woods joins the series in an as-yet-unidentified role from the comics. Besides Woods, Tyler Hoechlin and Ian Gomez have joined the cast as Superman and Snapper Carr, respectively.

Supergirl will air on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW starting on October 10.
