Ever since that after credits scene in Deadpool teased the introduction of Cable for the sequel, many have speculated as to who could bring the part to life on the big screen.

Recent rumors have heavily favored actor Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights, Wolf of Wall Street) for the role, and Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld would love for that to actually happen (via ScreenRant), but trusts the team behind the original to make the best choice for the part.

"I don't know Kyle Chandler. I don't know him. I don't know if he's ever going to play Cable, but we would be so lucky to have an actor as talented as Kyle Chandler, who has been in Martin Scorsese movies… Kyle Chandler is one of the best actors in Hollywood. People trip over themselves to work with him. If, by chance that rumor was true and the production was lucky enough to get somebody as talented as him, I would just trust in the people that gave you Deadpool to figure that out for the best."

Liefeld just wants everyone to relax and trust Director Tim Miller, Ryan Reynolds, and everyone responsible for bringing Deadpool to the big screen.

I would just say, everybody calm down. My whole thing, I would have #TrustInTim, trust in Tim Miller the fantastic director, and trust in Ryan [Reynolds] our producer and genius performer, and Simon [Klingberg], and Rhett [Reese], and Paul [Wernick]. That's what I would say."

Deadpool 2 doesn't have an official release date as of yet, but odds are that 2018 would be the place to debut it. FOX will have its hands full with the upcoming Wolverine 3 and scheduled but untitled X-Men universe films set for October 6th, 2017, March 2nd, 2018, and June 29th of 2018. Those could either be another entry in the core X-Men franchise, The New Mutants spin-off film, the long-delayed Gambit, or the rumored X-Force film. Only time will tell.
