Even though Ewan McGregor, the talented actor who portrayed Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequels — Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) — doesn't have a burning desire to reprise the role, it hasn't stopped Vimeo user, Rich Williamson, from making a fan-made trailer for a Kenobi spin-off film.

To be honest, a Kenobi standalone film would actually be pretty interesting to see, seeing as though we don't know, based on the films, all that much of what happened to the Jedi Master between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. At the end of the former, Kenobi went to Tatooine and delivered the newborn Luke Skywalker to Anakin's step-brother Owen Lars and his wife Beru. After that, Kenobi certainly didn't wait around for Luke to become an adult. So, what did he do in the interim?

John Jackson Miller's 2013 novel Kenobi filled in some of those blanks, adding more tales to Kenobi's never-ending fight for justice, but of course, I wouldn't count on any of that being used as part of the film franchise's canon.

As for Kenobi: A Star Wars Story, this minute-long trailer is scored to John Williams's "Rey Theme" from The Force Awakens (2015) and fleshed out with footage from the Star Wars prequels and McGregor's 2015 temptation of Christ film, Last Days in the Desert. Also, be on the lookout for a very important Force Ghost.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.
