Arrow Season 5: Break The Rules Trailer

Arrow is returning to its grittier roots for season 5, and that is no more evident than in the newest Break The Rules trailer.

In the newest clip from the show, fans get a prolonged look at Oliver's new team, which includes Wild Dog, Rag Man, Artemis, and Echo Kellum's Mr. Terrific. They'll be fighting alongside the returning John Diggle, but even with improved numbers, team Arrow will have their hands full.

The trailer also gives us our first look at Dolph Lundgren, who will be playing an unnamed brute that Oliver faces off with during his Bratva days. Combined with the debut of Prometheus, the unnamed Cody Rhodes character, Vigilante, and the return of Deathstroke, there will be plenty of villainy to go around.

ComicBook.com's Russ Burlingame recently reviewed the premiere, and we can safely say that the show is returning to its darker roots. "There will be no mistaking this show for Supergirl or DC's Legends of Tomorrow this season: the first episode is dark," we wrote in our advance review of the season premiere. "Probably as dark and violent as the show has been since Deathstroke killed Moira Queen in season two. In the past couple of years, Oliver's poor decisions have had a relatively negligible long-term effect because he's had the team to reel him in. Without Diggle and Thea in the field, it's only Felicity who's trying to keep him in check, and with...uneven results."

Arrow returns to The CW on Wednesday, October 5th.
