Finding Dory Passes $1 Billion At Worldwide Box Office

Earlier this year, Captain America: Civil War ($1.153 billion) and Zootopia ($1.023 billion) crossed $1 billion at the global box office, and today, Disney has officially announced that Finding Dory has accomplished the monumental feat as well.

With an estimated $484.7 million domestically and $516.7 million internationally, Finding Dory now has an estimated total of $1,001,480,568, making it Pixar's second billion-dollar film. Toy Story 3, which was released in 2010, was the first to reach the billion-dollar milestone and is still the studio's highest-grossing film of all-time with $1,066,969,703. However, Finding Dory is the highest-grossing Pixar film of all-time at the domestic box office, surpassing Toy Story 3's record ($415 million) back in July.

As for highest-grossing animated films of all-time, Finding Dory currently ranks fifth. Not too shabby for a film that came 13 years after its predecessor, Finding Nemo, which pulled in $940 million at the worldwide box office.

Disney•Pixar's Finding Dory, swims home just in time for the holidays on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA) on Oct. 25 and on Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand on Nov. 15.
