The Punisher Saves a Life, Takes a Lunch Break in Set Photos

New set photos for The Punisher, Jon Bernthal's starring vehicle on Netflix, were caught by Just Jared on the set in New York. While there are a couple pictures of him apparently saving someone from falling off the roof of a construction site, the rest are... rather mundane.

In fact the majority are just Frank Castle sitting down for a sandwich. Don't believe us? Click on that link above and look for yourself - at least 15 of those twenty pictures are Jon Bernthal eating. At least we know the Punisher is well-nourished. Guess he learned crime fighting from McGruff the Crime Dog.

This many photos coming out from the set of The Punisher is somewhat surprising, as Iron Fist only recently wrapped production and is the next one due out, while The Defenders will follow from Marvel and Netflix. That means, unless they buck their trend of two a year, we might not actually see The Punisher until 2018. That means you'll have to wait two and a half years to see this hot action of Frank Castle eating a sandwich.

The real takeaway from the photos, though, is that Frank Castle does not seem to be hyper-dedicated to Punishing. He's taking care of his appetite, but that's about it. His long hair and bushy beard also seem to indicate he's either taking some time off or being a little undercover at this point in time. Bernthal recently said that The Punisher wasn't "fully formed" in Daredevil season 2, where he debuted, and that we'd see that happen in this series, so this must be part of that process.

Or maybe Bernthal just got hungry.
