Logan and Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice may not have a ton in common, but there is one theme that runs through both films. Each features a hero who's struggling with being on the wrong side of his prime.
When you look at the characters with that lens, James Howlett and Bruce Wayne aren't all that different. Sure, only one of them is invincible, but they both have to wrestle with their past as they protect a future that will forget them.
One fan realized how alike these heroes were, and gave the rest of us the epic trailer we have been waiting for. 'Wayne' is the title of the piece, and it tells Bruce Wayne's story in the style of the second Logan trailer.
As 'Way Down We Go' plays in the background, many shots of Bruce seeming defeated flash on the screen. The whole thing is overshadowed by the voice of Jeremy Irons - Alfred - reminding Bruce of the task at hand.
Now, after watching this trailer, fans are surely ready to see a Batman story told this way. Even if it isn't R-rated, this kind of deep character study would be perfect for Bruce Wayne.
Logan is now playing in theaters across the globe. If you've had a chance to see the movie, be sure to give it a score on our ComicBook Movie Database below!
Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
