During a visit to the set of Riverdale back in February, ComicBook.com was among a small group of reporters who had the opportunity to speak with members of The CW series' cast while they were filming the show's season finale, which airs next week.
Among those conversations was a chat with Ashleigh Murray, the Deidre and Lane Rob a Train actress who plays Josie McCoy on Riverdale.
Asked about her impressions when she read tonight's script -- which reveals the identity of Jason Blossom's murderer -- Murray called the plot twist "heartbreaking" and praised the work of the series' writers.
She also name-dropped some likely candidates who turned out not to be the killer, so in the quote below, we have hidden those names behind spoiler tags for those who don't want to know.
This interview also took place before the series was picked up for a second season, so there is a reference to her hopes for a second season, which we have left intact.

," Murray said. "I was so convinced that he was chopping kids up and giving them to Pop Tate for burgers or something like that but I have no words. It's so horrible! It's really, really bad. I don't know how they're going to come back from that. And not like it's going to ruin anything, but who does it…our town is so fucked up, you guys. It's just OH MY GOD, it's the type of thing where you have to have a season two. You have to. The fallout from who does it is so strong, it's really intense."
Riverdale airs on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
