Award winning anime film, In This Corner of the World will be coming to American theaters soon. The movie will be coming to the big screens on August 11 in a standard theatrical release in the United States.

If you are unfamiliar with the feature film the companies describe the film below:

"The award-winning story of IN THIS CORNER OF THE WORLD follows a young lady named Suzu Urano, who in 1944 moves to the small town of Kure in Hiroshima to live with her husband's family. Suzu's life is thrown into chaos when her town is bombed during World War II. Her perseverance and courage underpin this heart-warming and inspirational tale of the everyday challenges faced by the Japanese in the midst of a violent, war-torn country. This beautiful yet poignant tale shows that even in the face of adversity and loss, people can come together and rebuild their lives."

In This Corner of the World is based off of Fumiyo Kono's manga with the same name. The manga won an excellence prize in the Japan Media Arts Festival. The film adaptation was writted and directed by Sunao Katabuchi and produced by GENCO.

In This Corner of the World will be shown in the original Japanese with English Subtitles, but some theaters will also have an English dub as well. The film will release in major U.S. theaters starting on August 11th.
