Louis CK Cut From 'The Secret Life Of Pets 2'

In response to Louis C.K's public acknowledgment of 5 women's sexual harassment claims, the comedian is being dropped by Universal Pictures.

That means C.K. will not be included in Universal's upcoming sequel to his hit animated film The Secret Life of Pets. C.K. supplied the voice for lead character Max, and a sequel is already in production, slated for release in 2019. The original film was a hit with audiences, grossing over $875 million, but it looks like they will need to recast the lead role (via Deadline).

Univeral is the latest company to cut ties with C.K., following announcements from FX, FX Production, TBS, The Orchard, HBO, and Netflix regarding various projects. C.K. had a deal with FX supporting his Pig Newtown production company for eight years, but that is off as well.

"Louis has now confirmed the truth of the reports relating to the five women victimized by his misconduct, which we were unaware of previously," the network said. "As far as we know, his behavior over the past 8 years on all five series he has produced for FX Networks and/or FX Productions has been professional. However, now is not the time for him to make television shows."

As for TBS, that involves his animated series The Cops, while The Orchard just canceled the opening of his film I Love You Daddy, which was supposed to open next week.

As for HBO and Netflix, those cancellations involved appearances on HBO's 18 Night of Too Many Stars and another standup special with Netflix.

This all originates when the New York Times published a report that told the stories of 5 women who said they had been sexually harassed by C.K. The comedian would then release a statement admitting that those all took place.

"These stories are true," C.K. said. "At the time, I said to myself that what I did was O.K. because I never showed a woman my d*** without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your d*** isn't a question. It's a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly."
