Hell Girl fans, don't feel like you have been abandoned just yet. The mysterious thriller may have had its last go at anime back in 2008, but it seems like the universe is not done with the supernatural series just yet. Thanks to some otaku detectives, fans have hope that another anime installation of Hell Girl is coming - and it will be here sooner than you thought.

Over in Japan, reports began to surface about a new Hell Girl anime after two retails listed one of the franchise's manga volumes. Tsutaya and Honya Club listed the publications for March and described the contents of the volume. It was there fans noted something peculiar. The description said the booklets held production designs for a "new anime series of Hell Girl [starting] to air in July." As for the volume itself, it houses fan-favorite chapters of Miyuki Etoo's manga which were used in Hell Girl's previous anime titles.

If you are not familiar with Hell Girl, then it won't take you long to get acquainted. That is, if you can handle it. The dark series debuted back in 2005 under Studio DEEN before it was given two more anime sequels in 2006 and 2008. A live-action adaptation of Hell Girl was also released in 2006.

The episodic series features mostly self-contained stories about individuals who are being bullied or abused by others. When they have had enough, they desperately log onto a website known as Hell Correspondence and ask their tormentor be disposed of. As such, a girl named Ai Enma then appears as the titular Hell Girl to fulfill the wish. The girl and her comrades will torture the offending souls, offering them a final shot at redemption, before they are then dragged down to Hell. But, as payment, the person who requested the job must go to Hell when they die. As the series moves forward, fans learned more about the workers behind the Hell Correspondence website whilst news crews begin to report on the mysterious site.
