McDonalds knows the way to an anime lovers heart. Over the years, the franchise has embraced series like Pokemon and Sailor Moon - and now the chain is turn its eyes to Son Goku. If you are lucky enough to live in Japan, you can expect to pick up some Dragon Ball Super toys with any McDonalds kids meal this month. And, should U.S. fans be lucky, the toys may swing over to America in a bit.
McDonalds in Japan will carry a total of six Happy Meal toys based on the anime. Each of the figures are based on Dragon Ball Super in particular. One of the toys is of Goku in his SSB form which allows kids to shoot off a kamehameha blast. Another figure is off Future Trunks, and it comes complete with a removable sword. And, if Gotenks is more your style, then you can nab a toy of the fused Saiyan throwing a Spirit Bomb. Just, be sure to duck - alright?
McDonalds other toys include Vegeta, a light-up Dragon Ball, and a glowing statue of Shenron.
For now, the toys are exclusive to Japan, but there is a chance McDonalds may bring the toys stateside. This month, the U.S. chain will finally get Super Mario toys which first debuted in Japan back in January. If the trend holds, then the U.S. could inherit the Dragon Ball Super toys for Happy Meals sometime this fall.
