Warning! Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super's 109th episode lie below!
Japan has come through once more with its Dragon Ball Super synopses. The anime released a new set of episode descriptions for its on-going arc, and they confirm the return of a rather famous attack.
Over on Twitter, synopses from Weekly Shonen Jump and Animedia have gone live. Fans like Todd Blankenship have translated the descriptions for fans, and the title of Dragon Ball Super's 109th episode has fans buzzing.
What is it? Well, the name is a mouthful. The episode is titled, "The Strongest Enemy Bears Down On Goku! Now's The Time To Fire! A Sufrefire Genki-Dama!!"
If you know your Japanese, then the title's last portion will have piqued your interest. Genki-Dama is the actual term for Spirit Bomb, and it's been a bit since Goku used the move.
Spirit Bombs may not be used as often as Kamehameha waves, but the attack is well known to Dragon Ball fans. Goku learned how to used a Spirit Bomb in the afterlife from King Kai. Anyone who wields a Spirit Bomb must have a pure heart in order to fully control it, and those who are pure-hearted can also repel it. Goku has refrained from using a full-on Spirit Bomb since his days in Dragon Ball Z, but it looks like the hero will feel threatened enough to bring it back out.
Of course, the likeliest suspect behind Goku's fear is Jiren. The Universe 11 warrior has been hyped as the Saiyan's biggest competition in the Tournament of Power. Synopses for Dragon Ball Super's 109th episode confirm the Pride Trooper will finally attack Goku, so the hero may be forced to use a Spirit Bomb when all his other attacks fail.
There is a good chance Goku's Spirit Bomb will still fail. The attack is hit-or-miss, and Jiren is very strong. Fans can't know whether the fighter has a pure heart, but Spirit Bombs can also be repelled by fighters who have an insane amount of strength. If the hero is able to overwhelm Goku, Jiren may simply swat away an Spirit Bomb that comes at him. And, if that move fails, then it will fall on Goku to assume a new form that can hopefully beat out Jiren.
