The world of anime is no stranger is series revivals, but few franchises get asked to be resurrected so soon after they wrap. Earlier this year, Hiro Mashima brought his Fairy Tail manga to an end, but fans already want more.

Now, a new piece of art from the creator has readers all but begging Mashima to give the magic guild another go.

Over on Twitter, the Fairy Tail creator sent fans reeling when he posted a sketch of two adorable children. Mashima shared a colored drawing he did of Natsu and Lucy's daughter hanging out with Gray and Juvia's son. As you can imagine, the fandom went wild over the stunning artwork.

Just, don't consider the sketch canon just yet.

The sketch was posted along with a length caption written by Mashima himself. The artist said these rare characters are the product of a recent fan-signing he did for New York Comic Con. Mashima went on to say the drawings have "nothing" to do with the main story and that is shouldn't be taken too seriously.

While the drawing may not be canon, fans are still happy to see what the pair's children may look like. Natsu and Lucy were never made an official couple in Fairy Tail while Gray and Juvia had at least admitted to their feelings for one another. If the mages were to have kids, the Fairy Tail guild would be in for one hectic treat.

As fans can see, Lucy and Natsu's daughter looks like the spitting image of her mom. The girl may take after Natsu in coloring and style, her face is almost identical to Lucy. As for Gray's son, the boy looks much like the ice mage though he has Juvia's eyes and coloring. The pair of next generation heroes looks like they would become Fairy Tail's newest partners if given the chance, and Natsu would be determined to fight Gray over the inevitable team-up as soon as he learned of it.

If you are not familiar with Fairy Tail, then it is about time you familiarized yourself with the story. The series follows a guild of young, powerful wizards who call Fairy Tail family. Set in a fictional Earth, a boy named Natsu teams up with an unlikely friend Lucy Heartfilia as the latter dreams of becoming a powerful wizard. To date, there are more than 250 episodes of the acclaimed series, and fans can expect more to come in the new year.

To date, several million copies of Fairy Tail have been sold worldwide. Published by Del Ray in the west, there are over 35 million volumes of the manga in circulation at the moment. Kodansha Comics is now overseeing the release of Fairy Tail projects in the U.S. and other western territories, and the licensing return has helped the publisher amass popularity. Other series like Attack on Titan have also helped bolster Kodansha's visibility outside of Japan, so fans can expect the company to continue pushing out new content as it becomes available.
