It's been a long time since One Punch Man has graced fans with any new episodes, but that will hopefully change soon. A second season of the anime is in the works, and there's a good chance fans will learn when its premiere will happen by the end of this year.

After all, it looks like the anime is making a special stop by Jump Festa 2018.

Over on Twitter, the official page for One Punch Man confirmed it will be attending the annual event this December. There's no word on what the franchise will be bringing to the convention, but plenty of fans are hoping One Punch Man will shed light on its second season during the event.

If you are not familiar with Jump Festa, then you should know the convention has a long history with shonen series. The comic convention was founded back in 1999 by Shueisha, the publisher of all the Jump magazines. In Japan, the event is considered the San Diego Comic Con of shonen manga, and franchises like Naruto and One Piece have made major announcements at the event in years past.

When it comes to One Punch Man, the series is perfectly poised to share new updates about its anime. The franchise could disappoint and just bring up news about merchandising for the series, but die-hards are holding out for the former option.

One Punch Man confirmed it would be pursuing a second season a couple years back, but progress on the anime only just began. Last month, fans learned that the series was changing hands as Madhouse gave the its second season to J.C. Staff to produce. A new director will also be overseeing the series this time around as Shingo Natsume stepped down so Chikara Sakurai could fill in. The update also confirmed One Punch Man's original cast will be returning to voice characters such as Saitama, so the anime may be far enough long come December to give fans a heads up about its much-awaited premiere date.
