Are Selena Gomez & Channing Tatum Going To Be In Avengers 2?

It's funny how rumors get started sometimes. When Joss Whedon appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday night, Fallon suggested to Whedon that he cast Selena Gomez as Scarlet Witch and Channing Tatum as Quicksilver. Here's how the exchange went down. Holding up some artwork of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Jimmy Fallon said, "Did you cast these guys yet?" Joss Whedon replied, "Not yet." Pointing to Scarlet Witch, Jimmy Fallon suggested, "This could be Selena Gomez" As the audience and Joss Whedon laughed, Fallon pointed to Quicksilver, "That's pretty good. And that could be Channing Tatum." After Fallon mentioned Channing Tatum, the audience hooted out and some applauded. As Whedon smiled, Fallon added, "Done, I just did your job for you. Isn't that awesome?" We've embedded the exchange below, and it seems pretty obvious that Fallon is making a joke. However, the story has started to spread via social media, and Selena Gomez fans have been voicing their support of the actress/singer in the role. Even some news site that have reported on Fallon's suggestion have questioned whether Fallon was joking or not. Could Fallon's joke actually lead to Gomez and/or Tatum being considered for the roles? Judging from Whedon's reaction to Fallon's suggestion, it doesn't appear as if he was giving the idea too much weight.
