Just how connected with the S.H.I.E.L.D.-centric Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in theaters next month, be to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., airing on ABC? Well, quite connected, by the look of it. Series star Ming-Na Wen just tweeted out the image above, noting that this is from an ad that just ran on ABC: The Captain America: The Winter Soldier logo in place of the regular S.H.I.E.L.D. sigil behind the show's logo. Given the fact that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury has already appeared in an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., along with Cobie Smulders's Maria Hill, it's hard not to wonder whether Marvel Studios and ABC might try to pull off a real coup and have a cameo by Captain America himself, Chris Evans--or at least Sebastian Stan, who appeared last year on ABC's own Once Upon a Time and who plays the titular Winter Soldier in the sequel. It could also indicate something simpler: just a tie to the upcoming movie, which we already reported months ago. Or, even less exciting, just the use of the familiar logo in order to cross-market the two products. It's almost inevitable, though, that fans will speculate what the shield behind S.H.I.E.L.D. means in this case, especially with Captain America seemingly declaring his intent to take down, or take over, S.H.I.E.L.D. in one of the recent trailers (with Nick Fury's support). Check out the actual tweet below and keep your eyes on this spot for any official announcements.
